Plan a project

Plan a photography project

For a new property, a renovation, or a reshoot. Every project begins with what the property needs to prove, which guest it needs to attract, and which photographs will make that value clear.

02Before you write

Worth knowing before you write.

This brief is a first step, not a request we respond to automatically. Review these four fit signals before writing to see whether this way of working suits your project.

First galleries for new properties

Build the visual argument before the listing goes live: positioning, proof requirements, shot priorities, sequence, styling, and production.

Stronger galleries for existing listings

Determine what to keep, reorder, replace, or create using the current gallery, market position, and the guests the property needs to attract.

A deadline this week is too soon

There is no time for the strategy and preparation this work requires. If you need finished photographs this week, we are probably not the right fit for this project.

We plan before we shoot

Photography is available, but the scope begins with the job the images need to do. This is not a commodity shoot or a list of rooms to document.

03The questions

The Brief

The brief

Untitled

Location not set

Sleeps how many, listed or not. Being looked at because of something. Built for a particular guest.

0 of 7 answered This is the shape of the note we would write before a shoot. Nothing here is a recommendation yet — it is your own answers, in our order.

What kind of place is it?

The property type sets what the photographs have to prove.

Where is it?

The market decides what a listing is compared against.

How many does it sleep?

Size changes who the listing should be speaking to.

Is it listed right now?

If it is, the photographs on it are the most useful thing you can send.

What made you look today?

Pick as many as fit. The reason you came is usually close to where the problem is.

Who is it built for?

In your words. Guessing is fine — disagreeing with your own answer later is useful.

Anything else worth knowing?

Optional. One or two sentences is plenty.

And who should we reply to?

The only two things here that are required.

Eight questions, four of them a tap. Nothing is recorded until you choose Finish the brief.

04What we do with it.

What we do with it.

It gets read against the market

Once a brief reaches us, it gets read against the market the property actually competes in.

What comes back

A read on where the listing looks like it is losing the booking, in the terms of your own answers.

Nothing is committed

Writing commits you to nothing — no shoot, no audit, no purchase. If a shoot turns out to be the answer, it gets planned before it gets booked.
